Transitioning to adulthood is hard. Whether you are in college, moving into the working world or navigating your 20’s or 30’s, being a young adult (or “millennial”) comes with its own set of unique challenges. The transition to having more independence, more responsibilities and serious intimate relationships (or not!) can be overwhelming and confusing. Perhaps you find yourself worrying that your chosen path may not actually be what you want anymore and that you feel like you have to pretend to have it all. Expectations aren’t as clear as they were when you were younger, and it’s hard to know which path to take. Stacy can help you choose a path that is true to yourself.

Many young adults experience anxiety and self-doubt when they transition to adulthood. There are real struggles with:

  • adjusting to new responsibilities

  • challenges to your worldview

  • setting boundaries with parents, friends and bosses

  • developing relationships

  • career choices and expectations

In therapy, Stacy will help you to develop a stronger sense of yourself and an increased confidence in how to manage all of the changes around you. We can investigate the roadblocks that are holding you back, and create a map for overcoming them.

Together you and Stacy will talk about different ways to view the situations you find yourself in, and you’ll develop skills to make decisions and take actions that are in line with your goals. You will often have concrete exercises to practice between sessions, to reinforce the lessons learned in therapy. You’ll come away with tools to help you move forward as you make thoughtful changes in your life.
