Perhaps you have always considered yourself a “worry wart” or an “overthinker”. Recently you’ve begun to notice that this has escalated, or it leaves you feeling down, paralyzed in decision-making, irritable. It may be impacting your relationships or your work, and affecting your ability to sleep. In New York, especially, anxiety is often dismissed as a right of passage; however, it can be quite difficult to manage and you don’t need to figure out how to do that alone. It’s true, a certain degree of anxiety is necessary and helpful; however, it can easily spiral.

During therapy, we will investigate how your thoughts, feelings and actions are all connected - and how to untangle instances in which you keep getting stuck. You’ll gain an understanding of how avoidance behaviors can actually increase your symptoms and make you feel worse.  Stacy can help people who struggle with:

  • Phobias and fears

  • Panic attacks

  • Chronic worry

  • Social anxiety

Using therapeutic tools, including cognitive behavior therapy, exposure therapy, and mindfulness, Stacy can teach you new ways to respond to anxiety. You’ll learn to recognize when you fall into patterns of distorted thinking and see that there are other options. You’ll have a better awareness of why you’re feeling the way you are, accepting that anxiety will always be present, but learning how to manage it so you can move forward and live the life you want.
